Reductive Linoleum Prints
For the Image, I squared off a portion of a doodle in a sketchbook and found a configuration that reminded of 2 big people arguing while a little child in the foreground looks on. It is an abstraction and its a very clear and clean image. This simple print is one of my favorites.
"The Grownups" is a 2 color, 2 plate, linoleum print. The first plate is a 12" X 12" sheet of linoleum that I cut little random dots into and printed with a minty green ink for the background.
For the second plate I used a new shade of red...Daniel Smiths' "Organic Vermillion" , which is a curious orangy red.
