Lithograph Charbonnel Crayon Black ink on Rives BFK
Plate: 9" X 11" Paper: 11" X 15"
This is a Lithograph I made at The Art Students League in NYC last year. Stone Lithography is a very old printmaking technique that entails drawing on the finest smoothest litho stone with a greasy crayon and then etching the drawing into stone with acid. Its a very engaging and technical printmaking technique.
The image comes from a sketch I made that drew inspiration from a poem by my friend, Rufus Collinson, about a memory she has of shopping at the A &P with her Mom on Friday nights when she was a girl.
